• Josh Caygill partners with Milltek Sport for Audi TT Cup return • Blancpain regular to contest final two TT Cup events of 2017 • Briton to race in one-make series this weekend at Red Bull Ring

Blancpain Endurance Cup racer Josh Caygill is to make a surprise return to the one-make Audi Sport TT Cup for the final two events of the season, beginning at the Red Bull Ring in Austria this coming weekend, thanks to a newly forged partnership with high-profile sponsor Milltek Sport. Key backing from the Derby-based performance exhaust specialist has enabled the Yorkshireman to seize a golden opportunity to return to the Europe-based category he contested in 2015 and 2016, where he was a series front-runner and podium finisher. Heading out to Austria later this week, Caygill is absolutely relishing the prospect of a return to the sprint racing format of the Audi Sport TT Cup and keen to see how everything he has learned in his first season of GT endurance racing in Blancpain translates – especially a return to front-wheel drive. “I’m absolutely buzzing to be fair”, said the Netherton 28-year-old, “I’ve got to say a massive thank you to Milltek Sport for getting involved and helping us make the most of this opportunity, it’s a great chance to be back in the TT Cup and I’m really looking forward to it. “Although I’m still racing an Audi in Blancpain this year, the cars are totally different and I will have to get used to front-wheel drive again. While the TT Cup is pure sprint racing, to be honest you push every lap in Blancpain anyway as it’s that competitive so it shouldn’t take any time to readjust. It’s going to be great to be back, I hope we can take away some top results and repay Milltek’s support.” Currently in the world-renowned Blancpain Endurance Cup, which will reach its conclusion under a fortnight from now on Sunday, 1st October, at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain, former motorcycle racer Caygill pilots a rear-wheel drive Audi R8 LMS Ultra powered by a V10 engine. By contrast, the Audi Sport TT Cup car he will return to this coming weekend at the Red Bull Ring is a lightweight 310hp front-wheel drive challenger. Additionally, one of the key features of the TT Cup is the ‘push to pass’ system which gives drivers a set number of 30hp boosts to utilise during the races. Through his partnership with Milltek Sport, Caygill will also race in the season finale for the TT Cup over the weekend 14th/15th October at Hockenheim in Germany where he was a top five finisher last year. “It’s going to be good fun being back in the TT Cup car and I’m really interested to see how I can put into practice some of things I’ve learnt in the bigger car in Blancpain, I definitely feel my driving has improved this year”, added Caygill, “You always strive to move forward in your career, so it’s nice to have an opportunity to revisit something I’ve raced before and have some fun. It should be mega.” Practice for the Audi Sport TT Cup competitors at the Red Bull Ring will take place on Friday, 22nd September, with qualifying following on Saturday, 23rd September, ahead of the opening race which is scheduled to start at 16.00 (local time). On Sunday, 24th September, race two is set to begin at 11.45 (local time).
